The following are capsule summaries of the
second day of play in the 2007 USCAA National Baseball
Championship Tournament.
Game 1: Columbia Union 9, Briarcliffe 8

A bases-clearing double from Mike Hernandez with two outs in
the sixth inning lifted Columbia Union to a victory over Penn
State-Beaver. Alex Machain earned the victory for the Pioneers
pitching four innings allowing seven hits while Brad
McLaughlin earned the save. Pat Ringel was 3-for-5 to lead
Penn State-Beaver in hitting while five others had two hits
each.
Game 2: Florida College 7, Briarcliffe

The host Falcons took advantage of four Briarcliffe errors to
score six runs in the fifth inning for the come-from-behind
victory. Robby Woodke was 2-for-3 to lead the Falcons at the
plate to benefit the complete game from Jared Campbell who
struck out seven. John Rivera was 3-for-3 to lead Briarcliffe
at the plate as the Seahawks outhit the Falcons 10-8.
Game 3: Apprentice School 9, Columbia

Cato Dixon was 3-for-4 and Jonathan Dehoux drove in three
runs going 2-for-3 as the Apprentice School held off a late
Columbia Union College rally for a 9-6 victory. Patrick Adams
earned the victory throwing five innings allowing five hits,
while Mike Nelson struck out the last two batters for the
save.
Game 4: Florida College 15,
Presentation College 0

The host Falcons exploded for a 12-run seventh inning to
advance to the winners bracket final. Levi Davenport threw a
complete game two-hitter for Florida College striking out six
and only two walks. Robby Woodke drove in four runs, three on
a home run in the seventh inning.
