Davar Watson was born and raised in New Brunswick,NJ.  He graduated from New Brunswick High School and was recruited to play basketball at Carl Albert State University in Oklahoma where he stayed for one season before coming back home.  Watson attributes his opportunity at Williamson to his head coach, Bill Michaels who stayed in contact with him in the summer of 2007  and encouraged him to seek opportunities at Williamson.  Watson describes this as a life changing moment – when he became a Williamson Trade man.

At Williamson, Watson was a powerful presence on the basketball court, leading The Mechanics at the peak of its dominance in the USCAA.  Watson won the USCAA National Championship in 2008 and 2009, where he won the National Championship MVP award in both seasons.  He was a 1st Team USCAA All-American in 2008, 2009, and 2010 and boasted a remarkable 74-14 playing record in his three years with the Mechanics.
