USCAA Names State College, PA and Williamsburg, VA as Alternating Host Sites Through 2028
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association is excited to announce the host sites for the USCAA Golf National Championships through 2028. Both State College, Pennsylvania and Williamsburg, Virginia have been selected to host the National Championship event in alternating years. The 2025 Golf National Championship will be played at the Penn State Blue Course, while the 2026 National Championship will be played in Williamsburg, Virginia. In 2027 the USCAA will make a return to Happy Valley and close out 2028 back in historic Williamsburg.
The 2025 championships, held October 12-14 of 2025 will be organized by the USCAA National Office and the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau. The tournaments will draw an estimated 250 visiting fans and will include about 150 players on over 20 teams representing schools from multiple states. The 2026 Championships will be organized by the USCAA National Office and VisitWilliamsburg.
“This bid cycle was extremely unique”, says USCAA Chief Operating Officer, BJ Bertges. “There was overwhelming feedback from current members to return to State College and the Penn State Blue Course, who have been outstanding hosts and partners for over 15 years. But Visit Williamsburg supplied a proposal that we simply could not pass up, so we were able to come to an agreement with both host sites to provide the best of both worlds”.
According to the National Office, the opportunity to alternate years is a unique opportunity that provides institutions with many benefits including an enhanced student-athlete experience as they play different courses in back-to-back years, getting to travel to new regions, both of which will serve as potential recruiting tools for coaches.
The CEO of Visit Williamsburg, Edward Harris also commented saying, "We are thrilled to support the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) for the Golf National Championships through 2028. As we welcome this prestigious event to Williamsburg, we are excited about the opportunity to showcase the region's exceptional golf courses and to be a part of the growing collegiate golf community. We look forward to supporting the athletes, coaches, and fans for years to come."
The 2025 USCAA Golf National Championship will be played on Penn State Blue Course like previous years, while 2026 will offer a new experience for golfers and coaches playing the Plantation Course at the Kingsmill Resort.
