USCAA Releases Statement on Recent NCAA Eligibility Injunction
The United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Office is aware of the recent lawsuit and injunction placed at the District Court level in the state of Tennessee regarding a student athlete at Vanderbilt University that challenges the NCAA rules surrounding junior college transfers and understands the pertinent questions surrounding the issue. At this time, the current injunction does not yet provide national effect to athletic eligibility and remains unsettled on the national level despite the recent court case regarding the issue. The USCAA Board of Directors has yet to make a determinative ruling surrounding this area of collegiate athletic eligibility. We will continue to monitor all state and federal law, evaluate internally, and provide a more thorough response when additional information becomes available.
