USCAA Announces IUP as the 2026 and 2027 Track & Field National Championship Host Site
Pittsburgh, PA – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) is excited to announce that the 2026 and 2027 Men’s and Women’s USCAA Small College Track & Field National Championships will be held at Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Indiana, Pa. campus. The Championships will be administered jointly by the USCAA National Office and IUP and includes the use of the IUP Crimson Hawks facilities at George P. Miller Stadium and at Frank Cignetti Field on the IUP Indiana campus.
IUP and the Indiana region are no strangers to national track and field events, as IUP has hosted the Ed Fry Invitational for more than two decades, with close to 20 teams competing at each meet.
"We are excited to be partnering with IUP to host the USCAA Track & Field National Championships," says BJ Bertges, Chief Operating Officer of the USCAA. "With the goal to continue to enhance our championship experience for our student athletes and coaches, having access to a premier facility with the support of a successful program behind us, we are confident we can continue to grow Track & Field within the Association."
“IUP is very pleased to be selected as the host of the 2026 and 2027 USCAA Track & Field championships,” IUP Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Thomas C. Segar said. “It’s a great boost for our community, and we are proud and excited to host the student-athletes, coaches, staff, and fans.”
The USCAA members in attendance for the Men’s and Women’s Track & Field National Championships will spend the majority of their time at Miller Stadium, which includes Frank Cignetti Field. It is the home field for the IUP Crimson Hawks football, field hockey, and track & field teams. The field surface is artificial turf, and the stadium utilizes an Electro-Voice audio system.
In 2013, the field was named for former football head coach and College Football Hall of Fame member the late Frank Cignetti Sr.
The two championship events will bring an estimated 250-300 athletes, coaches and team personnel from 15 institutions across the United States to Indiana County. The USCAA will be utilizing multiple hotels, restaurants, and shops throughout the championship event, increasing its economic impact on the region.
Tournament dates for the USCAA Men’s and Women’s Small College National Championships in Indiana, PA, are April 24th – 25th in 2026 and April 23rd – 24th in 2027.
