Seawolves Shut Out In Auburn

AUBURN, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 shutout to rival Central Maine Community College (CMCC) in non-conference action on Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Central Maine's Igor Domingues put the home team on top with six minutes remaining in the first half, and Ivan Domingues doubled the Mustang lead at the 67-minute mark. Central Maine outshot the Seawolves 28-18, but SMCC was able to generate nearly twice as many set piece opportunities.

First-year goalkeeper Andrew Pike (Berwick, Maine) faced tallied 13 saves in 90 minutes of action.

SMCC slips to 0-4-1 overall; CMCC improves to 2-0-1.

The two teams will meet again on Thursday, Oct. 13 at Wainwright, in a game that will help determine conference standings.

The Seawolves open Yankee Small College Conference play on the road when they visit the Knights from Vermont Technical College on Saturday, Sept. 17. Kickoff in Randolph, Vt. is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
