Moose fall short at Thomas

Waterville, ME - Men's basketball battled all night long in a close fight but ran out of steam in the final four and half minutes and lost by eighteen points on the road at Thomas 66-84. The Thomas bench proved to be the difference in this game as they saw the bench mob convert for 29 points in the game. 

 

The Record:

The Moose fall to 3-4 on the season with the loss but maintain a strong 2-1 conference record

 

What Happened: 

-The Moose battled throughout the entire first half. The Moose had the lead at 15-14 with 13:25 remaining in the half but that would be their last lead of the game.

-Down by their largest defict in the first half, 22-31; Fraser MacDonald went on a nice little 6 point run to pull the game back to 28-32. Even play over the final three and half minutes would see the Moose go into the half trailing by 5, 35-40.

-The Moose men came out of the locker room hot going on a quick 7-2 run to tie the game at 42-42. The run was powered by an Elijah Smith three pointer followed up by an Elijah Smith layup and finished with a Trevor Beals layup.

-The Moose again came back to tie the game at 57-57 with 9:36 remaining in the game, when Maurice Hodge Jr. converted a layup from Jaluaghn Jackson 

-Thomas finished the final 9:36 on a 9-27 run that lead to the Moose falling 66-84

 

Inside the Moose:

-The Moose were led by Fraser MacDonald with 17 points and also led the team in rebounding with 12 (both were game highs)

-Elijah Smith was a perfect 4-4 from the foul line

-Trevor Beals and Fraser MacDonald both ripped down 5 offensive rebounds

-The Moose get back into action with a home contest on Tuesday, November 22nd vs UMaine Presque Isle for a 7:30pm start from the Civic Center
