AUBURN, Maine – The Seawolves (3-2) traveled north to visit their in-state rival Central Maine Community College (CMCC) and the Herons from Great Bay Community College (GBCC) for a tri-match on Dave Gonyea Court.

SMCC's first match of the day came against Great Bay and the Seawolves took it in straight sets. Sophomore Rachel Pardi (Portland, Maine) led the way with six kills and three digs while first-year Anna White (Buxton, Maine) had three kills and nine digs. Sophomore Lauren Kiss (Lyman, Maine) recorded 12 assists and 12 digs as SMCC cruised to victory against the Herons.

The team's second and final match of the day pitted them against the Mustangs of CMCC, who won the first meeting between the two 3-1 on Sept. 3. SMCC built some momentum out of the gates and took the first set 25-20, but CMCC responded with three straight 25-20 set victories to collect a 3-1 match victory. Pardi recorded nine kills, three assists and three digs in the match while sophomore Emelia Lamie (Rochester, N.H.) put up 22 digs. Jordan Bickford (Cumberland, Maine) had three kills, six assists and nine digs and White had six kills, one assist and 18 digs. Kiss racked up two kills, 22 assists and 10 digs.

Coach's Thoughts:

"Our setter Haleigh went down with an ankle sprain in our match against Massasoit CC last Friday. Through that challenge our team has been learning what it's like to play "scrappy" and they're loving it. We've played three good matches recently, and during the match against CMCC we executed the defensive changes we had put in over the week very well. Looking to improve our kill percentage – we've been focusing on that more in practice this week." – Head Coach Garrett Lewellen.

Seawolves Stars of the Day:

Pardi: 15 kills, six digs, three assists

Kiss: 34 assists, 22 digs, two kills

White: Nine kills, 27 digs, one assist
