Syracuse, NY-
The Bryant & Stratton College- Syracuse Men's Soccer team defeated SUNY-ESF 6-0 Sunday afternoon on Senior Day. The victory improves the Bobcats' overall record to 7-1-1 on the season.
How it Happened:
Before the match, the Senior class of the Bryant & Stratton College- Syracuse Men's Soccer team was honored for their contributions to the program. The Senior class which includes Giovanni Gallina, Felipe Pampolim, Azinho Solomon, Seydou Diallo, and Christian Wille-Perez were instrumental in the Bobcats back-to-back USCAA National Championships.
The story of the match was the energetic play of the Bryant & Stratton College- Syracuse Bobcats who looked refreshed following a mid-season break. From the start of the match, the Bobcats controlled possession and were able to break down the defense of the Mighty Oaks.
The Bobcats took a 3-0 lead into the halftime break thanks to goals from Razvan Ititesc, Jonathan Zamora, and Shawn Altidor Viau.
Similar to the start of the 1st half, the 2nd half started with another wave of Bobcats pressure and resulted in another three goals being scored. This time, the goals were scored by Shawn Altidor Viau, Jhonny Zamor via an excellent penalty kick, and Azinho Solomon. The goal for Zamor was his first on the season and an excellent way to celebrate his birthday.
"The chemistry of our team has grown tremendously over the course of the season, "said Head Coach Nick Dimitrievski after the match. "The team that we have now is much different than the team we had at the beginning of the season."
Dimitrievski went on to say that, "teaching a style of play and setting standards for a large group is always a difficult task, but our guys have continued to work and absorb the information we have given them and the improvement is evident on the pitch. I am happy with where our group is at and I look forward to us continuing to grow as we near the USCAA National Championship."
Next Game:
The Bobcats will conclude their regular season this Saturday, October 29th at 1pm with a matchup vs. Bryant & Stratton College- Rochester.
