Men's basketball had a tough first road game against a PSUAC/USCAA powerhouse, Penn State Wilkes-Barre (record of 5-1) on Friday night, with an ending score was 110-77.
Dasilas Jones led the team with 20 points, followed by Torian Jenkins with 16 and Carlton Canaday with 15.
Coach Andrew Hedrick spoke about the hard match up, "Wilkes is a big team and their size wore us down. I think they are one of the best teams in the USCAA Division 2 in the country." Penn State Wilkes-Barre has been to two USCAA National Tournaments over the last three years, with one year being excused due to COVID.
Although Friday night was a tough loss, Fayette bounced back strong with a 84-58 win over Penn State Scranton on Saturday afternoon. This win was important into the Thanksgiving break, giving Fayette their first conference victory, although their overall record is 5-2.
Dasilas Jones once again led the team in points, scoring 27, followed by Dom Boring who found his groove again with 18 points.
Coach Hedrick gave a comment about the win, "We played with good energy after a sluggish start. The bench was a major contributor as we battled foul trouble with several players as well as an injury. We also shot better from the 3-point line."
Penn State Fayette will play the Navil Academy's junior varsity team away on Monday at 7:00 P.M.
