Win streak extends to seven games

Penn State Mont Alto 3, Penn State Fayette 1 (25-12, 25-12, 24-26, 25-15)

 

Penn State Mont Alto got out to a roaring start in the first two sets, winning 25-12 in both. Penn State Fayette played a tremendous third set, winning 26-24. During the fourth set, Penn State Mont Alto seized the momentum, defeating Penn State Fayette 25-15. The win keeps the Nittany Lions undefeated in conference play and extends their winning streak to seven consecutive contests.

 

Kylee Gooding paced the Mont Alto attack with a team-high 19 kills. Leslie Huckle also tallied her own personal best in 2022 with 16 kills. Kylie Denlinger provided 43 of Penn State Mont Alto's 51 assists on the evening. Four Mont Alto defenders recorded double-digit dig numbers. Kylee Gooding recorded 20, Kylie Denlinger tallied 18 while Brooke Denlinger and Cadance Newman each had 12. 

 

Gracie Vaughn added another block to her tally with one solo and one assist. Kylee Gooding and Caroline Blickley each added an assisted block.

 

Bella Buwawa provided the most kills for Penn State Fayette with ten on Friday evening. Pasepa Driso-Buwawa added eight kills. Emma Eckert recorded nine of Fayette's 19 assists. Pasepa Driso-Buwawa also led the team in digs with 11. Bella Buwawa had an outstanding game in the blocking category with six solo blocks and one assisted. 

 

Up Next: Penn State Mont Alto hosts a tri-match on Saturday afternoon. They will take on Penn State Beaver at 1 p.m. and Harford Community College at 5 p.m.
