Bobcats Shut Down Celtics for Fourth Straight Win
BUFFALO, NY - Senior Oumy Gueye went for 15 points and 15 rebounds as Bryant & Stratton Buffalo swept it's second consecutive tournament weekend, improving to 4-0 after a decisive 74-59 win over Carlow University on Sunday afternoon.
BUFFALO, NY - Senior Oumy Gueye went for 15 points and 15 rebounds as Bryant & Stratton Buffalo swept it's second consecutive tournament weekend, improving to 4-0 after a decisive 74-59 win over Carlow University on Sunday afternoon.
Gueye was one of four players in double-figures for B&SC Buffalo. Kat Kanhoye scored 13 and also finished with nine rebounds and eight assists. Junior Armoni Jordan scored 12 off the bench and fellow junior Tajah Goodman scored 10. Junior Chy Isom had 11 rebounds, as she has now secured double-digit rebounds in all four games this season.
After the two teams battled during the opening 10 minutes, B&SC Buffalo dominated the second quarter, out-scoring the Celtics 23-9 to take a 14-point halftime lead. From there, the Bobcats were never in danger and able to coast to victory. They out-rebounded the Celtics 52-42 and held them to 31.9 percent from the floor, and 16.7 percent (2-12) from beyond the arc. Emily Hillgartner led all scorers with 18 for Carlow and Sydney Carr finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
UP NEXT
The Bobcats will remain at home as they're set to host Berkeley College (NY) on Saturday, November 19 at 6 p.m. The game will take place inside the Buffalo State Sports Arena.
