NORTH BRIDGTON, Maine – A three-run first inning from the Wolverines of Bridgton Academy (4-3) gave them a lead they'd never relinquish as the Seawolves (4-3) fell on the road 4-2 on Friday, Sept. 30.

First-year Ryan Thurber (South Portland, Maine) put SMCC on the board when he scored on a throwing error in the third after singling earlier in the inning. Sophomore Gabriel Rivera (Caguas, Puerto Rico) scored sophomore Justin Colon (Aguada, Puerto Rico) on an RBI groundout in the fifth. First-years Chris Magzag (Southington, Conn.) and Luke Wearne (Ellington, Conn.) both notched a single and sophomore Anthony Sayers (Benoni, South Africa) drew two walks.

Sophomore Liam Jann (Philadelphia, Pa.) allowed one earned run and struck out four in five innings pitched and sophomore Joseph Townsend (South Portland, Maine) threw a perfect inning in relief.

Coach's Thoughts: "Our pitchers did well again today, we just didn't give them the support they needed. When our bats get going, we're a dangerous team." – Head Coach Nic Lops

Seawolves Stars of the Game:

Rivera: One RBI
Magzag, Thurber and Wearne: One hit each
