Men’s Soccer Sweeps Hazleton

HAZLETON, Pa. – Penn State New Kensington men's soccer landed their first conference win of the season against Penn State Hazleton.

Only into the second minute, New Kensington was on the board when Carlos Colindres (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./ Blue Mountain) shot low and scored. Brady Braun (Harrison City, Pa./ Penn Trafford) was next to put up points for New Kensington, scoring at minute six. Already maintaining a solid lead so early into the game, Alonso Sanchez (Wexford, Pa./ North Allegheny) got a goal and bumped the team to 3-0. Soon after, Colindres was back for another. By halftime, the men were ahead of Hazleton, 4-0.

During the 59th minute, Thomas Cahill (Harwick, Pa./ Highlands) made the score 5-0, and a while after, there was another New Kensington goal made by Braun.

Tomorrow, Sun. September 22, New Kensington will be back on the field going up against Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
