The KSU Tusc volleyball team earned a split in a tri match at Ohio University Lancaster on Sunday by beating the host Panthers, but losing to NCAA D-II West Virginia State Univeristy.

It took an overtime fifth and deciding set for the Golden Eagles to upend OUL after they won the opening two sets of the match 25-22 and 26-24 and two a 2-0 set lead. The hosts bounced back grabbing a 25-15 win in the third set and they squelched a spirited Eagles comeback in the fourth winning 27-25. KSU won the fifth and final set as they took control to win 15-10. Karlee Peach had 23 assists for the Eagles, while Mya Blochlinger had 21 kills. Morgain Little added nine kills and five blocks and Ciera Romig had six kills.

In the three-set match against WVSU, the Navy and Gold did not back down to the much taller and deeper Yellow Jackets. The Eagles gave a spirited challenge to the team from Institute, WV losing 25-11, 25-15 and 25-11 and did a great job of covering the hitting zones.  Blochlinger had six kills and Peach had four assists.
