Men's Basketball Splits On The Road

The men's basketball team had a 2-game road trip this weekend as they took on PSU Hazleton on Friday and PSU Schuylkill on Saturday.

The start of the weekend was an exciting and close game against Hazleton as DuBois would stay aggressive the entire way.  Down only 1 at the half thanks to the over 40% shooting from the 3-point line, DuBois would keep that mindset thorough the 2nd half as well.  A couple of key 3-pointers by Christopher Fronters would be enough to tie the game at the end of regulation, forcing overtime.

Neither team could find a rhythm in the extra minutes and DuBois would take the loss, 70-67.  Frontera would end with 11 points while Jaiquil Johnson and Will Helton would both finish with 13.  Beau Verdill would pull down 13 rebounds for DuBois and Guy Anthony would grad 11 in only 17 minutes of play.

On to the next game however, and DuBois would have to bounce back quickly after the long game.  Next up was Schuylkill and DuBois didn't miss a beat as they started right where they left off the night before.  In dramatic fashion this game would also be tied at the end of regulation forcing another overtime game for the already tired DuBois team.  There was enough fight in them though as they continued to battle through the overtime minutes and would not be denied this win as they would defeat the home team, 77-71.

With the win DuBois is tied for 2nd place in the PSUAC West division and will play their next conference matchup on November 29th against PSU New Kensington.
