SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – The Seawolves (4-2) defended home court and easily handled the visiting Knights from Northern Essex Community College (0-1), winning in straight sets and giving up a high of just 17 points.

The Seawolves set the tone right away and continued to control the pace throughout the match. Set two finished with a score of 25-17 after Northern Essex rallied in an attempt to tie the game up but were halted by a strong finish from the Seawolves. SMCC took set three 25-10 to close it out in the minimum.

Sophomore Emilia Lamie (Rochester, N.H.) tallied one kill, two assists and 14 digs as the libero for the Seawolves. Sophomore Lauren Kiss (Lyman, Maine) put up three kills, 22 assists and six digs. Coach's thoughts:

"We built off of our strong performances the last few matches and had another good one this evening. Northern Essex kept us on our toes and showed us a few things that will be focus areas at practice this week. We're looking forward to another match with NHTI this weekend." – Head Coach Garrett Lewellen
