The Lions owned a 13-12 edge during the final frame, but Mont Alto recorded 12 of the final 15 points to claim the match.

Match Two: Penn State Greater Allegheny 3, Penn State Brandywine 0

Brandywine led during all three sets, but could not hang on to defeat the defending PSUAC champions.

Back-to-back aces from Sydney Stevens (Wilmington, Del./Alexis I. DuPont) and a kill from Ramirez gave Brandywine its largest lead of the first set at 18-10; however, Greater Allegheny answered with an 11-3 run to tie the count at 21-21. Brandywine tallied the next two points following kills by Floyd and Ramirez, but the visitors netted the final four points to rally for the 25-23 victory.

The Lions held a 9-7 edge during set No. 2 before GA recorded the next four points. Greater Allegheny used a 9-1 spurt to end the set in its favor by a count of 25-15.

A 10-2 run for Greater Allegheny helped the visitors open up a 16-8 margin during the final frame. Brandywine closed within 19-14 following a pair of GA errors, but six of the final eight points went to GA as the visitors completed the sweep.

Ramirez topped the Lions with 12 kills and added 14 digs, while Alvarenga posted a team-best 23 digs.

Floyd and Snyder both produced six kills and Jezyk tallied 23 assists, along with 10 digs.

Brandywine (8-9, 6-3 PSUAC) is back on its home floor Wednesday for its final non-conference match of the year against Cheyney at 7:00 PM.
