Mustangs Sweep Granite

Auburn, ME - The CM Mustangs baseball team used timely offense in game one and dominant pitching in game two to sweep Quincy College in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon in Auburn.

In game one, Keith Hooker and Zach Mann both had two hits and two RBI to lead the ten hit attack for the Mustangs surviving with an 11-10 victory. Caden Truman also had two RBI. On the mound, Derek Roman started before giving way to a plethora of relievers. Jeff Meisner picked up the win. Jack Cote and Hooker also saw time on the mound. 

 In game two, Shane Sullivan was masterful on the mound going the distance in a thrilling 2-1 victory. Sullivan surrendered 5 hits and struck out 11. Hooker was once again a repeat hitter. Jimmy Reed had a triple and an RBI. That was all the offense the Mustangs needed. 

"It was a good day of baseball for us" said head coach Ryan Palmer. "Our pitching in game one still struggled to throw strikes but we are improving" "I cant say enough about Shane Sullivan in game two. What a masterful performance" "Keith Hooker was also a bright spot for us today. He does a little bit of everything"

The Mustangs improve to 5-1 and take on Yankee Conference opponent NHTI in a doubleheader today starting at noon
