Volleyball comes up short, loss 3-2

McKeesport, PA- Fayette Volleyball had an intense match up with long time rival Penn State Greater Allegheny away Wednesday night.

Greater Allegheny (6-3) came into their conference home opener with a lot of momentum, with their 2021 PSUAC Championship banner being unveiled just before the game. Fayette lost the back and forth set war between the two teams, losing 3-2 (9-25, 25-21, 25-21, 13-25, 3-15).

 

Bella Buwawa led the team with an astounding 23 kills and 10 total blocks, 8 of which were solo. Libero, Tyannah Eddings had an impressive 19 digs to keep Fayette in the game. Setter, Emma Eckert assisted Fayette to 5 sets by racking up 16 total assists for the game.

Although volleyball's record will now fall to 3-6, Coach Joel had a positive quote from the match up, "This is a rowth mindset sort of match. We saw a lot of positives out there and can refine them to make us even more dangerous to our opponents. We learned alot and are looking forward to using that to our advantage going forward."

 

Fayette Volleyball will host a tri-match Saturday, September 23, with a PSUAC match up first at 10:00 A.M. and a USCAA match up against UCC at 2:00 P.M.
