Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer used three unanswered first half goals and two key insurance goals late to defeat Penn State Scranton in conference action on Tuesday afternoon by a final of 5-2. Kynn Loss scored two goals for Mont Alto and Brett Kauffman, Thomas Oberholzer and Wesley Muller each provided tallies in the PSUAC victory.

 

Wesley Muller scored the game's opening goal in the first two minutes on an assist from River Terry. In the tenth minute, Brett Kauffman scored on an assisted pass from Thomas Oberholzer to push the Mont Alto lead to 2-0. River Terry registered his second assist on the afternoon on Kynn Loss's goal late in the first half. Penn State Mont Alto would take a 3-0 lead into the half. 

 

A pair of Victor Bulaya goals for Penn State Scranton cut the once three goal lead for Penn State Mont Alto into only a 3-2 lead. Buyala recorded his first goal in the 50th minute on an assist from Raphael Carvalho. Later in the 57th minute, Buyala scored his second goal on a double assist from Connor Tone and Adrian Sokolowki. 

 

Kynn Loss added the first insurance goal in the 73rd minute on another assist from Thomas Oberholzer. Oberholzer would then record his fourth point of the contest with his goal in the 76th minute on an assist from Nathaniel Edey.

 

Penn State Mont Alto currently holds onto the 6th and final playoff spot with a game at Penn State Hazleton on Friday evening remaining in conference play.
