Lions split tri-match

Match One: Penn State Mont Alto 3, Penn State Beaver 0

Leslie Huckle recorded a team-leading eight kills during Penn State Mont Alto's sweep of Penn State Beaver during match one of the tri-match on Saturday afternoon. Kylee Gooding had seven kills and Gracie Vaughn registered six to pace the Mont Alto attack. Kylie Denlinger provided 20 of the team's 24 assists in the first match. Brooke Denlinger led the team in digs with 13 of Penn State Mont Alto's 47. 

Candice Baum and Gracie Vaughn each had two assisted blocks on the defensive end.

Daniela Guzman paced the Beaver attack with two kills. Guzman also had a team-high seven digs in the match. Breann King chipped in five digs on the defensive end. Jakelia Baker recorded two blocks, Makayla Solomon and Ramiya White each had a solo block. Breann King led the team in two assisted blocks. 

 

Match Two: Harford Community College 3, Penn State Mont Alto 2

Penn State Mont Alto started out the second match on a good note, taking set one from Harford C.C. 25-21. Mont Alto led 23-20 in the second set, until Harford C.C. came from behind and took the second set 26-24. Mont Alto quickly stole back the momentum, winning the third set 25-22. Harford C.C. would go on to win set four 26-24 and the deciding fifth set 15-12 to win the non-conference matchup. 

Kylee Gooding (16) and Leslie Huckle (15) paced the Mont Alto attack with 31 of the team's 43 kills. Kylie Denlinger recorded 36 of the team's 41 assists. Three Mont Alto players provided 20+ digs in the losing effort, Kylee Gooding had 26, Brooke Denlinger had 25, and Kylie Denlinger had 22. 

Caroline Blickley led the defensive effort with three solo blocks and Abigail Wagner chipped in with two. 

Martina Croce led Harford C.C. with a team-leading 24 kills on 52 total attack attempts. Brooke Naugle and Kaja Szuba each recorded nine. Rikki Van Djik led the team with 33 assists. 

Brooke Naugle had a match leading eight solo blocks on the defensive side.
