The Golden Eagles hosted a tri match on Saturday in Founders Hall Gym and came away with a split in their two matches, which left their record at 8-3 on the season.

Lizzy Keller and Lindsey Seibert teamed up for eight and seven points respectively and scored the last 11 points of the set as the Eagles posted a 25-15 win after trailing 14-12. Keller accounted for 11 points in the second as the scorched the nets for the final 14 points of the set to take a 25-11 decision over the Lions.

The final set was much closer, but a balanced Eagles attack earned them a 26-24 victory in a three-set match sweep. The win allowed them to take a break and watch the PSU New Kensington take on defending USCAA national champion Cincinnati Clermont.

The Cougars made their job look very easy in a very workmanlike 25-6, 25-10, 25-12 win over PSNK in their first match of the afternoon.

It was evident that UC Clermont was more dominant at the net, but the Eagles did not back down from the challenge and were very competitive although they lost the first set 25-17. They were even more up to the challenge in the final two sets pushing the Cougars to the line before falling 25-19 and 25-21.

The Eagles are off until next Saturday when they host another tri match with OU Lancaster and Miami Middletown. The first set begins at 11:00 a.m. as KSU Tusc lines up against the Cougars from OUL.
