Volleyball Beats Akron Wayne 3-1

The KSU Tuscarawas volleyball team lost the opening set of their match on the road at Akron Wayne on Wednesday, but bounced back in a big way sweeping three straight sets and winning their third match of the year on the Warrior's home court 3-1.

Wayne took the first set in a close 25-21 decision before the Golden Eagles dominated the rest of the way winning 25-15, 25-9 and 25-10 for a four-set win in Orrville. It was the first meeting of the year between the two rivals and an impressive showing by the Navy and Gold who were led in scoring by Karlee Peach with 27 points and 27 assists on the evening. Morgain Little was a beast at the net for the Eagles scoring 19 points with 11 kills and 10 blocks which is consistent with her first place USCAA division two ranking in blocks per set. Mya Blochlinger added 16 kills which brought her season total to 114 and ranks her first overall in the USCAA. She also ranks first in kills per set at 6.3. Ciera Romig tied Little for second highest scoring honors during the match with 19.

With the win, the Golden Eagles are now 3-4 on the season and have won two of their last three matches. They host Ohio State Mansfield on Wednesday, September 16th at 6 p.m. in a homecoming match.
