SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – Sophomore captain Jack Pyzynski (Saco, Maine) dropped 19 points in his return from injury to lead the Seawolves (3-1) over the Midshipmen from the Naval Academy Preparatory School at the Hutchinson Union Building on Saturday, Nov. 5.

Both teams traded leads throughout the game, with Navy Prep getting out ahead in the early-going before SMCC went on a run to take a seven-point lead, 30-23, into the locker room. The Seawolves stretched the lead to as much as 10 points in the opening minutes of the second half, but the Midshipmen stormed back to make it close in crunch time. After a pair of timeouts in the final four minutes, SMCC was able to keep composure, get the stops they needed and hit clutch free throws to seal the win.

Pyzynski also tallied three rebounds and two steals in his season debut, shooting 7-10 from the field and 4-7 from deep. Senior captain DeSean Cromwell (Biddeford, Maine) stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three blocks while sophomore captain Thomas Martinotti (Harwinton, Conn.) totaled 12 points, seven rebounds and two steals. The Seawolves shot 41.2 percent (7-17) from long-range as a team, outrebounded the Midshipmen 44-30 and generated 13 free throw attempts to Navy Prep's six.
