Neumann Rides Hot-Shooting Offense Past Brandywine

MEDIA, Pa. -- Neumann University connected on 53 percent of its shots from the field and handed the Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team a 93-61 defeat on Tuesday night.

The Knights shot over 60 percent during the opening 20 minutes, while building a 50-26 halftime edge. A.J. Dreger (Newtown Square, Pa./Bonner-Prendie) knocked down back-to-back baskets to get Brandywine within 12 at 33-21, but Neumann scored the next 14 points to pull away.

T.J. Lewis, Jalen Vaughns and Justin Smith powered the Neumann offense with a combined 21 second-half points as the Knights continued to front run throughout the final 20 minutes.

Colin Hockenbrock (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth) was the high scorer for the Lions with 12 points, while Dreger produced 10 points and Bryce Barrouk (Glen Mills, Pa./Rustin) chipped in with nine. Dillon Jones (Wilmington, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) collected a team-best seven rebounds.

Brandywine (2-4, 1-1 PSUAC) is back at home next Tuesday to face Penn State Wilkes-Barre at 8:00 PM.
