Volleyball starts off conference play with reverse sweep against Penn State Fayette

Penn State Mont Alto (2-5 overall, 1-0 PSUAC) 3, Penn State Fayette (2-5 overall, 0-1 PSUAC) 2 

Penn State Mont Alto women's volleyball started off conference play with a win over Penn State Fayette on Tuesday evening. Mont Alto got behind early, dropping the first two sets each by score of 25-20. The team showed resilience by taking a tough third set by a score of 25-23. They continued their momentum winning the final two sets by a combined score of 40-21.  

 

Kylee Gooding paced the offense with a team-high 16 kills. Gracie Vaughn was close behind with 13 kills. Leslie Huckle also chipped in with six kills. Kylie Denlinger assisted on 29 of Penn State Mont ALto's 43 kills.

 

Brooke Denlinger led Penn State Mont Alto in digs with 22 on the night, Kylee Gooding also adding 14. Gracie Vaughn added to her team-high in blocks with three. 

 

Pasepa Driso-Buwawa led Penn State Fayette in kills with 17. Bella Buwawa was second on the team with 16 kills. Alie McGee was the team leader in assists with 42 of Fayette's 45 . 

 

Pasepa Driso-Buwawa was a leader on the defensive side as well with a team-high in digs with 19. Bella Buwawa was second with 14. 

 

For Penn State Mont Alto, Tuesday's five set thriller marked the third straight year with a win in the conference opener.
