Herons win hard fought five game match against Unity

PORTSMOUTH, NH (GBCC) - The Great Bay Herons Volleyball team started the season off with hard fought victory over Unity College.  Brynn Coleman, Dover, NH led the team with 12 kills and Nikki Flanagan, Milton, NH kept the Herons offense on pace logging 32 assists. First year Heron player, Morgan Cunningham let the team with 4 service aces.

Unity started strong winning the first game 25-21 but the Herons turned things around in the second game, winning 25-22. The third game was back and forth with the Herons surviving multiple game points for Unity. The Herons eventually held on to win 29-27. The Herons finished strong, winning 15-13 in the deciding 5th game. 

The Herons Volleyball team travel to NHTI to take on the Lynx on Thursday at 6:30pm in Concord. The will be back in action at home on Thursday, September 19th against Northern Essex at 6pm.
