PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. The Penn State Mont Alto women's soccer team used a big scoring first half to secure the 5-2 road victory over the University of Valley Forge on Tuesday. The scoring output was the most of the season for the Nittany Lions who improved to 2-4 overall.

After peppering the net several times, Mont Alto finally pushed the ball across the line in the 21st minute when Tori Stouffer (Orrstown, Pa. / Cumberland Valley Christian) scored the first of what turned out to be three goals. Stouffer was assisted on the play by Natalia Molina (Fredrick, Md. / Urbana). The sophomore scored again in the 28th minute and Sarah Mackey (Norfolk, Va. / Granby) put Mont Alto up 3-0. Stouffer netter her hat-trick on another curling effort that got the best of the keeper at the 30:42 mark.

PSUMA outshot Valley Forge 21-10 going into halftime. The Nittany Lions scored their fifth goal in 64th minute off the foot of Natalia Molina (Fredrick, Md. / Urbana). Valley Forge was held scoreless until the 76th minute when Haven Mayhew scored and less than two minutes later Gisele Rojas scored an unassisted effort.

Freshman Greyson McKnight (Sterling, Va. / Potomac Falls) made six saves in 90-minutes.

Mont Alto returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 17 with another road match at Patrick Henry. First kick is slated for 5 p.m.
