Crusaders Go 2-0 in Home Tri-Match

Front Royal, VA – Christendom Crusaders' Volleyball team was victorious in a home tri-match on Saturday. The Crusaders won their first match against Regent University Royals 3-1 and swept Penn State Beaver Lions in their second match, 3-0.

The Crusaders were challenged with a good fight from the Royals in the first set of the match but proceeded to win 25-23. Christendom also finished the second set with a win 25-17 but fell to the Royals 25-12 in the third. To close the match, the Crusaders took the last set 25-16 winning the game 3-1. Christendom's Nora Ross (Freshman/Tulsa, OK) led the team in points, followed by Claire Mense (Senior/Lakeland, FL) and Catherine Brezinsky (Sophomore/Montrose, CO).

Christendom's second match of the day also had a close first set, with the Crusaders beating the Lions 25-23. Despite a fight from the Lions, the Crusaders took the win in the final two sets 25-21 and 25-13. The Crusaders were dominant over the Lions winning the match 3-0. Ross led the Crusaders in kills with a total of 15 this match, and Fiona Briggs led the team with 29 digs.

Next Up: Christendom College's Volleyball team will play on Tuesday, September 13th at Washington Adventist at 7:00pm.
