SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE – The Seawolves (9-4, 2-2 YSCC) used a 41-point first half to jump ahead of the Warriors early and coast to a 26-point victory at The HUB on Sunday, Dec. 4.

Sophomore captain Jack Pyzynski (Saco, Maine) broke an 8-8 tie with a triple just prior to the 15-minute mark, and SMCC would hold serve from that point onward. A 9-1 run to end the half stretched the Seawolves lead to 18, 41-23 after first-year Luke Briggs (Augusta, Maine) buried a three.

Senior captain DeSean Cromwell (Biddeford, Maine) put up a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Pyzynski finished with 20 points, four rebounds and three assists. Briggs had eight points and three rebounds, shooting 2-4 from long-range, upping his season-long mark to 37.9 percent. First-year Randy Vasquez (Methuen, Mass.) hauled in 10 rebounds (seven offensive) and sophomore captain Thomas Martinotti (Harwinton, Conn.) notched six points, nine rebounds and four assists.

The Seawolves put themselves back in the win column after a two-game skid. SMCC returns to Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) action on Dec. 7 against Great Bay Community College in Portsmouth, N.H. on Dec. 7 before traveling to Vermont Technical College on Dec. 10.
