CHESTER, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team saw its three-game winning streak end Wednesday night as Widener claimed a 10-2 victory over the Lions.
Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) continued her scoring streak, tallying a multi-goal game for the sixth-straight outing. She evened the match at 1-1 with her first goal of the game and later added a second-half tally. Averie Florschutz (Chadds Ford, Pa./Kennett) recorded an assist on Banks' first score, her team-leading fifth of the season.
Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) made eight saves in net for Brandywine, which was outshot 18-4. Banks accounted for three of the Lions' shots on goal.
Widener scored six times in the first half to build a 6-1 edge and tacked on four more goals during the final 45 minutes.
Brandywine (3-7, 2-0 PSUAC) returns home for its final non-conference matchup of the season on Saturday when the Lions host Gwynedd Mercy at 1:00 pm.
