The Golden Eagles volleyball team even their record at 4-4 on the season with a three-set win over visiting Ohio State Mansfield on Wednesday night. A large homecoming crowd was present to see the 25-17, 25-15, 25-21 win in Founders Hall Gym. It was KSU's third victory in their last four matches.

The Navy and Gold started quickly building a double-digit lead in the first set, but OSU cut that lead in half before falling by a final margin of eight points. It was more of the same in the second set as KSU took a large early margin and rallied at the midway point for the win. In the third set, it was the Mavericks who took the early lead with some spirited play as the Eagles substituted often.

After falling behind 4-2, the hosts rallied to take the lead at 5-4 but the visitors were not going to go away quietly. The Mavericks took the lead and matched the Eagles point-for-point until the winners finally took a 17-15 lead that they never relinquished. The final point of the match came on an anticlimactic service error and the celebration was on.

For the match, Karlee Peach set her way to 19 assists, while Mya Blochlinger had 16 kills. Morgain Little added five kills, three blocks and two service aces for KSU, while Ciera Romig had eight kills and Dessa Dubbert had five playing in her first match of the season after a wrist injury.

On Saturday the Golden Eagles travel to Ohio University Chillicothe for a dual match.
