Lions Start Hot, Win Second Straight.

New Kensington, PA- The Lions welcomed Penn State Hazleton to the Athletic Center Friday night for a PSUAC showdown. Both teams entered the contest looking to get above the .500 mark in conference play.

New Kensington exploded out of the gates, going on a 13-0 run over the first seven minutes to take a commanding lead. The Lions remained hot all half, shooting 50% from the field and 39% from three on their way to a 34-23 lead at the break.

The Lions continued their success in the second half, jumping ahead by 18 with just over 12 minutes left in the game. PSU Hazleton was able to make things a little more interesting down the stretch, but New Kensington never ceased the lead on their way to a 70-57 victory.

Four of the Lions starters scored in double digits on the night. Sophomore guard Shyheim Flanagan (Breaux Bridge, LA) led the team with 15 points, sophomore center Jovan Kovic (Subbotica, Kojic) added 14 points and 8 rebounds, freshmen guard Ta'rasi Means (Plum, PA) and sophomore guard Aubrey Feaster II (Buffalo, NY) each chipped in 11 apiece.  Sophomore guard Andre Hayes (Ashburn, VA) led both teams with 9 points off the bench.

The Lions will look to make it three straight conference wins as they play host to Penn State Schuykill Saturday, December 3rd at the athletic center.
