HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The match was scoreless through 57 minutes, but Penn State Harrisburg struck for five goals during the final 32:48 to best the Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team 5-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Jordan Ventura got Harrisburg on the scoreboard at the 57:12 mark and the hosts tacked on two more goals in the next 20 minutes to build a 3-0 edge. Harrisburg added a pair of scores 37 seconds apart with under six minutes to play.
Juan Guerrero (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) stopped six shots during his 84-plus minutes in net. Five of those saves came during the second half when Harrisburg put 10 shots on target.
Ben Sarafinas (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and Luke Segner (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara) recorded one shot each for Brandywine.
The Lions (2-2-1), who saw their three-match unbeaten streak come to an end, travels west to face Penn State New Kensington in its conference opener Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm.
