Brandywine Wins Rain-Shortened Game At Rosemont

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine earned its first victory of the season, winning 1-0 at Rosemont in a non-conference men's soccer game that was called during the 75th minute because of thunderstorms on Wednesday afternoon.

Walton Tucker (Garnet Valley, Pa./West Nairobi School (Kenya)) provided the match's only goal, the first of his collegiate career, during the second minute.

Juan Guerrero (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) made the Lions' lead stand up, stopping both shots he faced in 75 minutes of action, to deliver his first shutout and victory. Brandywine's defense in front of Guerrero was stout as the Lions held Rosemont, led by former Brandywine head coach Jesse Zafiratos, without a shot for the final 55 minutes of action.

Brandywine produced six shots on target, including a team-high two from Alex Lopez (Toughkenamon, Pa./Kennett).

The Lions (1-1) are back on the road Friday when they visit Gwynedd Mercy at 4:00 pm.
