Front Royal, VA - Christendom Crusader Men's Soccer Team were victorious over Crown College with a win of 6-1 this past Friday, 9/30.
The Crusaders came out strong and brought intensity from the beginning of the game. Christendom's Ryan Welch (Freshman/Atlanta, GA) put the Crusaders on to 1-0 with a goal assisted by Sean Corcoran (Sophomore/Lawrence, NJ). The Crusaders continued to control the game and before the end of the half they were up 3-0. The final two goals of the half were scored by Welch and Michael Townsend (Sophomore/Front Royal, VA), both assisted by Bobby Vander Woude (Freshman/Nokesville, VA).
Crown College continued to push and maintain an intense game. Despite this, the Crusaders created many opportunities in front on Crown's net. They were able to score two more goals, Vander Woude and John Paul Tsakanikas (Sophomore/Front Royal, VA) assisted by Vander Woude to go up 5-0. Crown College was able to put in a goal to bring it to 5-1. But before the end of the half, Townsend scored again for the Crusaders to make the final score 6-1. The Crusaders played a dominate game with a total of 56 shots in the game.
