Auburn, ME - The CMCC men's soccer team welcomed local rivals SMCC to Auburn.

The Mustangs held the majority of possession in the early in first half yet were unable to make the break through as Pike stood firm in the Seawolves goal. The Seawolves were unlucky to take the lead when Laszio Dorogi found himself open in the Mustangs box, his shot struck the post and rebounded into play.

CM scored the opener with 6 mins left in the first half. Abdiraqib Yussuf took a quick throw to his brother Abdifatah. Abdifatah bent a defense splitting pass to Igor Domingues. Domingues still had plenty to do cutting inside a defender before slotting the ball past the onrushing keeper.

The second half began as the first ended with both teams pressing forward. With 24 mins left to play the Mustangs scored their second of the game. Romano Bassa crossed the ball from the left wing, the ball passed through the Seawolves keepers hands where an opportunistic Ivan Domingues shot the ball into the open net.

Despite periods of pressure from the Seawolves the Mustangs were able to see out the remainder of the game to earn the 2-0 win. CM moves to 2-0-1 for the season, while SMCC fall to 0-4-1.
