Colindres Leads Men's Soccer to Win

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. – Freshman Carlos Colindres (Schuylkill Haven, Pa. / Blue Mountain) led Penn State New Kensington men's soccer to their first win of the season against Westmoreland County Community College. The Lions took down the Wolfpack with a score of 10-0.

Within the first ten minutes of play, New Kensington pushed themselves well ahead of WCCC. Brady Braun (Harrison City, Pa./ Penn Trafford), Paul Kozuch (Ford City, Pa./ Armstrong), and Nolan Johngarlo (Apollo, Pa./ Kiski Area) brought on the 3-0 lead.

Not long after, Colindres took charge of the field, scoring four goals each within two minutes of each other. Colindres' goals put New Kensington ahead 7-0. New Kensington scored once more during the first period, courtesy of Johngarlo, which placed them in a strong position against WCCC heading into the second.

At minute 56 and 75, New Kensington put in two more goals and managed to hold WCCC at zero for the rest of the game.

New Kensington will host Penn State Brandywine on Sat., September 14 at 2 p.m.
