Seawolves Pick Up First Win At Can Am Tournament

AUBURN, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team defeated Roxbury Community College 61-52 on the first day of the annual Can Am tournament Saturday, Oct. 29.

SMCC outscored its opponent in both halves, finishing the second on a 10-2 run to separate from a 1-point advantage at the 4:43 mark.

Two finished in double-digit scoring for the Seawolves headlined by forwards Anthony Lobor (Portland, Maine) and Randy Vasquez (Methuen, Mass.), each contributing 10 and combining for nine rebounds. SMCC took advantage of the painted area getting first-year Colby Dillingham (Norway, Maine) four buckets on four attempts.

Roxbury's Kevin Agyemang topped all scorers in the game with 19, 5-10 from beyond the arc.

SMCC gets to .500 at 1-1 on the season.

The Seawolves return to The HUB on Sunday, Oct. 30 when they play host to the University of New Brunswick- Saint John to conclude the Can Am tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
