Early goal not enough for Men's soccer in home opener

Early goal not enough for Men's soccer in home opener

Williamson 3, Penn State Mont Alto 1

Kynn Loss's opening tally in the 12th minute off a rebounded shot wasn't enough for Penn State Mont Alto to hold onto during its home opener. Williamson's Jonathan Illing scored all of the game's next three goals, completing a hat trick early in the second half. Illing's second tally giving the Mechanics a 2-1 as the end of half horn sounded.

Illing led the Mechanics in shots on goal with five, Brandon Cairy close behind with three shots on goal to lead the Williamson offensive attack. Kynn Loss paced the Mont Alto attack with three shots on goal. Bryce Kylor and Brett Kauffman each added two shots on goal a piece.

Nathan Myers earned the start in goal for Williamson, stopped nine of his shot attempts. Ayden Hernandez was the starting goalkeeper for Penn State Mont Alto, stopping ten of his 13 shot attempts.
