The Berkeley College New York men's soccer team made easy work of the Warriors of Vaughn College on Wednesday afternoon, earning a 6-0 victory in a match that took place on the No. 85 field at Randall's Island. With the win, the Knights improved to 7-4-1 overall, and stayed perfect in HVIAC competition, improving to 3-0. The Warriors dipped to 1-2 overall (1-2 HVIAC) with the loss. The match was called after 85 minutes due to strong storms.

Five different players scored for the Knights in this one. Veteran Marcos Leon got the scoring underway in the 10th minute when he scored an unassisted goal at 9:38 to put Berkeley ahead of 1-0. 14:12 later, Anthony Mejia notched a goal on a deflection near the box to increase the Knights edge to 2-0. Then, at 24:45, Tcharly Verna made it 3-0 Berkeley when he would head a Leon corner kick into the net.

The Knights continued to spray shots on goal, netting the fourth goal when reigning HVIAC Player of the Week Amadou Sy would net his 12th goal of the 2019 campaign, taking advantage of a corner kick by Leon at 30:54 to increase Berkeley' commanding edge to 4-0. That would be the final goal scored of the opening half.

Berkeley would add two more goals in the second stanza, one by Verna (his second of the afternoon, at 47:27), and another by Jonathan Russell, who tapped in a rebound at 54:11 to make it 6-0.

Dario Cruz-Sepulveda picked up the victory in this one for Berkeley, as he logged 45 minutes and made two saves while not allowing a goal. Yusuf Figueroa played the final 40 minutes, stopping two shots and keeping Vaughn off the scoreboard.

The Knights converted on half of their shots on the afternoon, as Berkeley attempted 12, scoring on six of them. Vaughn College registered eight shots on the afternoon, but the Warriors were unable to find the back of the net.

Berkeley has now won nine consecutive regular-season HVIAC contests dating back to last season, and the Knights have outscored their three conference opponents in 2019 by a margin of 12-0.

The Warriors' men's soccer team squared off against the Berkeley College (NY) Knights on Wednesday, October 2. This was the third consecutive Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) opponent that the Warriors have faced in the past two weeks. The Warriors entered the HVIAC match 1-1 in conference play while the Berkeley Knights entered the match with a perfect 2-0 record in the HVIAC.

The Warriors started off extremely sluggish against the Knights on both sides of the ball. Once again the men's soccer team conceded an early goal against their opponent. In the Warriors' previous matches they were able to settle down and control the pace of play as the game progressed. Unfortunately, the Warriors would give up four first-half goals to the Knights putting the game out of reach. The second half would not get better for the Warriors. Missed scoring opportunities and sloppy play frustrated the young Warriors men's soccer team. They would go on to suffer a 6-0 loss to the Knights. This was the first game the Warriors have failed to score a goal this season.
