Presque Isle, ME - The CM baseball team took the trek to Presque Isle and took care of business in a doubleheader on Saturday.
In game 1, the Mustangs pounded out nine hits in a 10-1 victory highlighted by a Shane Sullivan two run homerun in the third. Jimmy Reed led the offensive attack with three hits including a double. Caden Truman also had a double and two hits.
On the mound, Trevor Phelps was stellar pitching into the 4th inning. He had five strikeouts. Hunter Warren and Garret Harvey pitched in relief to hold the Owls at bay.
In game 2, the Mustangs exploded for six runs in the first and never looked back getting a 12-4 win. Catcher Kaleb Thompson had three hits and two runs scored. Zach Mann had two hits including a triple. Keith Hooker was also a repeat hitter.
Derek Roman was dominant on the mound going four innings and having nine strikeouts. Jeff Meisner, Jack Cote and Rhen Trinidade pitched in relief.
The Mustangs improve to 3-0 and host rival SM on Monday night in Auburn at 6:30.
