J’Quavious Thurmond of NHTI is the USCAA Men’s Division II Basketball Player of the Week. The Lynx of NHTI had two games this week against opponents ranked in the most recent coaches poll standings. In the team’s first game against fourth-ranked SMCC, Thurmond had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the overtime victory. He followed up the performance with a 22-point, eight rebound night against #19 College of St. Joseph’s Vermont. In the final contest of the week he was one rebound short of a double-double with nine while adding 17 points and six assists.
