USCAA Directors Cup Standings After Fall Championships

2019-2020 USCAA Directors Cup Standings

 

NORFOLK, VA – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) has revealed the first round of 2019-2020 Directors Cup standings. The standings consist of results from the 2019 USCAA Golf, Volleyball, Soccer, and Cross-Country National Championships in addition to points for 2019 National Convention attendance and sport offerings.

St. Mary of the Woods Pomeroys top the Director’s Cup standings after Fall Championships. The Pomeroys started the year winning the Golf National Championship for the second year in a row. The Women’s Cross-Country team followed the momentum and claimed the title of National Champions. The Men’s Cross-Country team finished in fourth place.  The Pomeroy’s also had their Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams travel to Virginia Beach and they earned points for their appearances. The Pomeroys sit in first place with 476 points overall.

In second is the Broncos from SUNY Delhi.  The Broncos got the year started with a second-place finish at the Golf National Championship.  The SUNY Delhi Broncos went into the Cross-Country National Championship with winning on their mind, where the Men’s team claimed the title of National Champions.  The Women’s team was right behind them, where they secured the third-place position.  The Broncos sit in third place with 373 points.

Penn State Fayette are currently in third place with one-point shy of second place, 372 total points. Fayette’s teams made four different appearances in this year’s National Championships.  The Women’s Volleyball claimed the title of National Champions, which earned them 100 points.  The Men’s Cross-Country team finished in third place, which earned them 85 points.  The Lions’ Golf team finished in the top ten and the Women’s Cross Country finished in the 11th spot.

Fourth place currently belongs to SUNY ESF who has accrued 335 points in the fall season.  The Mighty Oaks had two second place finishes in Men’s and Women’s Cross Country. They also had another second-place finish for the Women’s Soccer team. SUNY ESF’s golf team earned points for their appearance in the Golf Tournament. 

Rounding out the top five, is the Bengals from The University of Maine Fort Kent. The Bengals earned a first-place finish in the Women’s Division I Soccer National Championship.  They also had two second place finishes during the Fall Championship Week.  The Women’s Volleyball team and Men’s Soccer team both placed second during their Championship events. The Bengals have 310 points overall.

USCAA Director’s Cup points are awarded for the number of sports offerings, attendance at the 2019 USCAA National Convention, and results from USCAA National Championship events.
