Penn State Schuylkill survived a late surge from Penn State Wilkes-Barre to secure a hard-fought 77-76 victory at home.
Schuylkill controlled much of the game, building a 17-point lead early in the second half. However, Wilkes-Barre clawed back, tying the game in the final minutes and briefly taking a 72-71 lead with just over two minutes remaining. Isaac Lane responded with a clutch jumper to put Schuylkill back ahead, and his free throws with 1:02 left provided just enough cushion. Wilkes-Barre had a chance to win in the final seconds, but Schuylkill's defense held strong, forcing a missed shot at the buzzer to seal the win.
The night was also about celebrating Senior Day, as Makhi Jones, Antwuan Byrd, Dashawn Dixon, and Andrew Sepp were honored for their contributions to the program. Each played a key role in securing the victory, with Jones, Byrd, and Dixon combining for 43 points, 23 rebounds, and 11 assists. In addition, cheer seniors Saije Grady and Shinaiya Benjamin were recognized for their dedication and spirit prior to tip-off, adding to the special atmosphere in the gym.
