HARRISBURG, PA—United Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II Central Pennsylvania College (7-3-0 overall, 5-0-0 Eastern States Athletic Conference) scored two first-half goals in the first two minutes as the third-ranked (tied) Knights defeated the seventh-ranked (tied) USCAA Division I Manor College Blue Jays (5-5-0, 2-2), 3-1, at the Skyline Sports Complex on City Island.
Central Pennsylvania junior midfielder Greg Conkle opened up the scoring with his first goal of the season, unassisted (1:44). Twelve seconds later, Knight freshman Donnie Powell scored his fifth goal, with an assist by sophomore midfielder/defenseman Dylan Loung (1:56). Luong contributed second assist of the season on Powell's goal. Manor cut the lead in half on freshman defenseman Zulkefal Shakir's (Upper Darby, PA) first collegiate goal, with an assist by junior midfielder Shiube Larabi (Philadelphia, PA/Science Leadership Academy) (17:01). Larabi contributed his third assist of the season on Shakir's goal. Central Pennsylvania led at halftime, 2-1. The Blue Jays outshot the Knights, eight (six on goal) to seven (five on goal).
Central Pennsylvania scored early in the second half for the half's only tally between the two schools. Freshman defenseman Zander Underkoffler scored his third goal of the season, with an assist by freshman defenseman Matt Wheaton (45:38). Wheaton contributed his first collegiate assist on Underkoffler's goal. Central Pennsylvania outshot Manor in the second half, 10 (four on goal) to nine (four on goal). Both teams had 17 shots overall for the match. The Blue Jays had more shots on goal, 10 to nine.
