Beaver's efforts end in a loss during a head-to-head matchup against Bucks County Community College
Monaca, PA - Beaver kicked off this morning with an eventful match vs the Centurions of Bucks County Community College. Early on, the game would see a delay due to inclement weather. The game seemed to get swept away from Beaver as Bucks County took a 5-0 lead after 3 innings. However, Beaver came out hot in the 4th inning scoring 2 runs, first initiated by Third-year Philip Betz (Marrieta, CA) and followed up by Ryan Coulombe (Easton, PA). Those were Beaver's only two runs of the game. Buck County would soon respond with a run of their own at the top of the 7th inning. The weather would once again cause the game to be delayed, further resulting in the game being called amidst the 7th inning.
Game 1: Betz and Coulombe would provide Beaver with their only 2 runs of the game, with Coulombe also chipping in an RBI. First-year Benjamin Ogle (East Berlin, PA) would record 1 hit along with Betz and Coulombe. Fourth-year Aaron Stribling (Hainesport, NJ) and Coulombe would record 2 stolen bases, with Third-year Nicholas Campbell (Lewes, DE), Second-year Luke Burkhart (Blacklick, OH), and Betz following up with one of their own. As for Pitchers, Second-year Justin Perera (Clarksburg, MD) would record 5 strikeouts and Second-year Nathan Asher (Ross, OH) recording 4.
Game 2: The intended 2nd game of the double header was canceled due to inclement weather.
