Lady Seawolves remain unbeaten

CONCORD, N.H. – The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's volleyball team secured another victory, this time over Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent Paul Smith's College on Saturday, Sept. 14.

In the first set, the Seawolves would have great offensive production, landing 13 kills off of 24 attempts to take a 1-0 set lead. The Bobcats bounced back in the second set to beat the Seawolves 25-20 and even the score 1-1. The third set would feature a thrilling 25-23 victory for the Seawolves, to recapture the lead over the Bobcats. Paul Smith's took the fourth set 25-23 to force a fifth—the Seawolves edged the Bobcats 15-11 in the final set to remain unbeaten.

Freshman Meryk Lewellen (Gorham, Maine) put together an amazing performance with 22 kills and a kill percentage of 51.4%. Freshmen Yana Montell (Gardiner, Maine) and Sophia Davis (Wells, Maine) combined for 50 of the 54 assists for the Seawolves. Junior Anna White (Buxton, Maine) would contribute 24 digs and two service aces. 

With the victory, the Seawolves become 2-0 in conference play and 4-0 on the season.
