Beaver Volleyball Can't Shake Losing Streak
Beaver hosts the Carlow Celtics in their 4th match of the season.
Monaca, PA – Penn State Beaver Women's Volleyball took on Carlow tonight in their 4th game of the season. Beaver was looking to bounce back from the USCAA Tip-Off Tournament where they dropped the first 3 games of the season.
In the first set Beaver got off to a good start taking 4 of the first 6 points which gave them the lead 4-2. Carlow responded well by taking the next 8, giving them a 6-point lead 10-4. Although both teams traded points for the rest of the set Beaver was unable to overcome the deficit and lost set 1 25-14. Carlow kept the momentum going into the second set not allowing Beaver to score more than 2 points in a row until the score was 17-5 in favor of Carlow. Once again Carlow's lead was too much to overcome, and Beaver would go on to lose set 2 by a score of 25-10. In set 3 Beaver started off losing 9-4 but scored 5 points in a row to tie the game 9-9. The rest of the set the two teams went point for point with no team having more than a 1-point lead until the very last point of the set when Carlow won 25-23 and took the match by a score of 3-0.
Penn State Beaver Women's Volleyball are still in search of their first win of the season and hope to find it in their next match at home against CCAC on Saturday September 7th at 2:00 pm.
